Pat Montgomery
Painter & Potter
Born and raised in the Old North State, Pat Montgomery is originally from Nashville, NC but during her college days made her way to her new hometown of Wilson.
With a Bachelors of Science in Art Education, a Fine Art degree from Meredith College, and concentrations in Watercolor from Nash Community College and in Pottery from Wilson Community College she is thoroughly formally trained! With a strong foundation in many art forms Pat has dedicated the entirety of her life to her art.
Inspired by the world surrounding, from people to landscapes, it allows her the freedom to follow the creative spirit wherever it leads. She photographs everything she possibly can and saves for later when her creativity strikes hot. Her process is developed one. She begins with her own photographs by manipulating their compositions digitally. With a printed copy she is allowed the freedom to begin sketching with one of her go to mediums, which as one can easily guess is one of many, considering her training is so thorough. From pastels to acrylic paint to charcoal to mix media, Pat goes where her inspiration flows.
As a life long artist Pat Montgomery’s accolades, awards, and exhibitions are lengthy and awe-inspiring.
