Katelyn Messer

Active Artist

Katelyn Messer is a Wilson native who was captivated by the natural landscapes surrounding her hometown at a young age. From the western mountains found in Appalachia to the undulating waves of the Eastern North Carolinian Coast, Katelyn continues to find herself overwhelmingly inspired by nature. So much so, her inspiration has lead her straight into a life of creation. As a self taught artist, Katelyn has cultivated her own unique techniques and styles with mediums such as Acrylic, Watercolor, and Digital Art. She still to this day allows herself to get lost in her love of the mountains and ocean as they remain a pillar in her work. She is drawn to colors such as dark blues and grays. Currently Katelyn’s work can be experienced in her space located in the “Vendor Junction” in Wilson’s growing Downtown. She is constantly learning new techniques and pushing the boundaries of her artwork. The majority of work she is focusing on are acrylic ocean landscapes and digital portraits of families and individuals.
